Residual Solvent Analysis on Electrospun Nanofibers

Where: Matregenix internship. Analysis conducted at the Boston University Chemistry Department

When: Summer of 2019

Objective:

  • To provide preliminary data on amount of residual Hexafluoro-2-propanol left in electrospun nanofiber sheet at varying sheet thicknesses and varying drying times and techniques

Directly responsible for: 
  • Setting up GC-MS machine
  • Constructing calibration curve by running known amounts of HFIP in methanol 
  • Testing nanofiber sheets dissolved in methanol to find residual HFIP in sheets
